If Today Was Your Last…

5 Benefits of Gratitude

Showing your gratitude can be a great way to spread positive feelings in the world around you. When you think about it, reaching your goals starts with a single positive thought.

How do you feel when someone sincerely expresses his or her gratitude to you for something you did? Doesn’t it make you feel good about yourself? These positive feelings can lift you up, boost your enthusiasm, and motivate you to achieve even more.

Feeling grateful for what you have can produce the same good feelings and sustain your drive toward your goals.

This shows how gratitude can have some seriously positive snowball effects.

Here are some of the benefits of gratitude:

Reaching your goals. When you feel grateful, it tends to be a lasting and selfless feeling. It’s much more than just a momentary burst of positive energy; it has staying power that will provide a great boost for you to reach your goals

When you express your gratitude to others, ensure that you’re open and expressive. People don’t know what you’re thinking; hearing it can make all the difference.

Strengthened relationships. There are many ways you can express your gratitude to your loved ones, including saying, “Thank you,” writing a letter, or giving them a thoughtful gift. When you learn to avoid taking your loved ones for granted, you’ll have a long lasting and loving relationship.

Showing gratitude is a two way street. Learn how to effectively express your gratitude and, just as importantly, to receive it as well.

Improved communication. Gratitude can mean better communication all around. By expressing your gratitude to strangers, they’ll be more likely to show an interest in helping you, too.

Gratitude is such a powerful entity that it can even help you communicate with your pets! They should be appreciated too.

More effective constructive criticism. No matter how we express constructive criticism, it often makes the recipient defensive or even angry. No one likes a blow to the ego. In this situation, a grateful attitude can take you a long way. You can express criticism quite effectively when you also emphasize what you appreciate about them.

Preserving memories. You can preserve memories in a positive way when you keep a gratitude journal. You’ll be able to enjoy your memories again and again when you read about these happy times in the future.

Show Your Gratitude Every Day

Showing gratitude to others may seem like a selfless act, but it’s something that you also benefit from. When you show your gratitude every day, you change the way you think.

You’ll appreciate your good life when the majority of your thoughts remain positive. Negative thoughts can sometimes be overwhelming, and just because you have them doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. They happen to everyone, but you can strive to keep them to a minimum with the help of a grateful attitude.

One way to show your gratitude every day is to remind yourself of the big picture when a negative thought arises. If a petty argument with your spouse makes you feel angry and heated, take a deep breath and think for a moment. Remember that the argument is not permanent and, instead, feel grateful for the gift of this relationship.

Our days on this earth are numbered so we must cherish the time that we do have and enjoy the benefits of living each day as if it were our last.

This Is How Optimism Can Help You Overcome Challenges and Reach Your Goals

All actions start as mere thoughts. When you set out to reach your goals, negative thinking pretty much ends your journey right there. You end up losing your drive, which you need in order to get anything done. But by contrast, having a positive mindset or facing every situation with optimism is like driving your car using high octane fuel.

You wouldn’t dream of using diesel in an unleaded car so why feed your mind with negativity when optimism and a positive attitude is the fuel is requires to run smoothly and efficiently?

“Thinking optimistically can be the difference between easily reaching success and falling short.” But how can you start thinking optimistically? There are certain actions you can take that will help you shift your core beliefs.

Try these steps in order to set yourself up for success with optimism:

  • Expect the best. You should know your desired outcome for your ultimate goals and believe that the best case scenario can prevail. You may tend to drift into the “what if” thoughts from time to time, but you also have the power to fight them. If you catch yourself thinking this way, immediately shift your focus onto something positive.
  • Take immediate action. Reaching your ultimate goals can be intimidating. There might be many things holding you back, including the fear of failure. But when you take immediate action, you leave no time for pessimistic thoughts to arise. You’ll plough forward in a positive direction
  • Seek the silver lining. No doubt there will be situations that present challenges to you. You must believe that everything happens for a reason and that there’s a silver lining somewhere in this challenge. Do your best to learn from the situation and then actively seek the best direction forward.
  • Write down your thoughts. You can certainly benefit from a brain dump every now and then. Write down your thoughts, including your fears, in order to vent. Take note of your positive thoughts as well. By writing everything down, you’ll gain clarity about your goals.

Worrying About Challenges

Don’t waste your time worrying about the challenges at hand or ahead. Once you realise that worrying serves no purpose, you’ll be better able to let them go. Chances are things will work out for the best. You need to believe this in order to achieve an optimistic attitude.

Realism will tell you that there’s the possibility of failure. While that may be true, you shouldn’t focus on it. Worrying about failure will not make it any easier to endure if it happens, and it can even cause you to attract that failure to you!

Worrying only hurts you in the present moment and keeps you from taking the positive action that can bring your goals to fruition.

Challenges Are Normal

When you realise that challenges are normal, they may be a little easier to deal with. The fact is you’re faced with challenges of varying degrees everyday.

You already know that life throws challenges your way, but you must believe that you can overcome these challenges! Then, you’ll be able to conquer every obstacle with an optimistic attitude.

Discover What You Can Learn

There’s a lesson to be learned in each challenge. Realising the lessons you’re presented with will allow you to grow as a person and learn from both your successes and failures. As you learn, you build confidence and confidence brings optimism.

Evaluate the outcome of a few different challenges your life has presented you. When you had an optimistic attitude, how did things turn out? When you had a pessimistic attitude, how did things turn out? Usually your attitude alone can make a significant difference.

And remember, your attitude is your choice!

Are Negative Thoughts And Negativity Holding You Back?

Negativity always finds a way to creep up in your life from time to time. It’s when negativity builds up too much or shows up too often that you have an obstacle to overcome.

A negative attitude can hold you back from truly living your life. However, you don’t need to feel stuck because you can bring positive thoughts back into your life!

How Negativity Can Hold You Back

Negativity can hold you back in a number of ways. Have you heard the saying: “If you think you can’t, you’re right”? It’s true! Negative thoughts like this really do sabotage your efforts

The good news is that you can gain control over how you think. When you’re expressing complaints and negativity all the time, it not only affects you, but it also affects the people around you. Negativity, itself, can be the reason why you create roadblocks that don’t really exist! So it’s time to choose the positive (and, yes, it is a choice!).

Manifesting A Positive Attitude

When you adopt a positive attitude, you open yourself up to the wonderful world of possibilities. When positive energy is in the air, you’ll be able to transform your negative feelings and maybe even bring others out of their negativity clouds.

Believe it or not, positive thinking is very powerful. It’s the driving force that steers your life into the direction of your dreams. Remember, your thoughts affect how you feel, and how you feel affects what you do, so if you can change your thoughts, you can change your outcome.

How To Develop A Positive Attitude

How can you change your attitude? It’s easier than you think.

Follow these tips to develop a positive attitude:

  • Visualize. When the negative thoughts come crawling into your mind, transform them with positive images. Visualize something that you find pleasing, peaceful, or exciting. Remember what your ultimate goals are and imagine what it feels like to achieve them.
  • Write it down. Keeping a journal has many positive effects. It helps you vent your frustrations, organize your life, and reflect on your innermost thoughts and feelings. Instead of focusing on the bad, use your journal to chronicle the things that have gone well in your life lately.
  • Relax. Negative feelings are bound to arise when you’re in a stressful state. It’s important to take time out of each day for yourself. This means that you need to adopt a relaxation method that works for you. Perhaps you can take a bath, go to church, attend a yoga class, or meditate. When you’re relaxed, a peaceful and positive mindset will likely overtake you.
  • Read and write affirmations. Grab a book with positive affirmations in it, or better yet, write your own. Affirmations are a powerful way to bring positive thoughts into your present state of well being. Affirmations are short statements in the present tense that remind you of positive attributes and goals in your life. Here’s an example: “I am strong and competent.”

To help you with affirmations I’ve compiled a FREE e-book you can download for free here. There’s no Opt-In, no cost – nothing. It’s yours to read with my compliments. If you wish, you also have my authority to give the book away to whoever you wish as long as it remains totally unchanged.

You’ll find enough affirmations for a different one each day for a month!

  • Live for the moment. Live your life for the moment and let go of everything else going on in your life. Negative feelings can easily overwhelm you if you’re consumed by past failures or the fear of the future. When you concentrate on the present, your life becomes more peaceful and positive.

In the end, go easy on yourself. You don’t need to be your own worst critic, instead, try being your biggest advocate! Just concentrate on your well being and you will develop a more positive attitude.

If you could do one thing to permanently instill the mindset of no-limit success into your life, what would it be?

I know what you’re going through. Plowing through all the negative thoughts and mental roadblocks can be tough.

There’s issues and developments that will always pop up…things that you weren’t expecting, things will try to drag you down and crush your dreams. Just when you think you’re really on your way life can throw a challenge at you.

And it’s how you deal with those challenges that makes all the difference.

The worst part is, most people who don’t have a similar success-oriented mindset just don’t understand. So when you have detailed questions or need direction, they either give you a unhelpful “philosophical” response or simply shrug their shoulders and walk away.

But I’ve got some brilliant news for you today…

There’s a group of personal development experts who DO understand. They’ve been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt!

In fact, there’s 54 of them. All right here, and all waiting to answer your questions.

The League of Extraordinary Minds

Inside the League of Extraordinary Minds, you’ll have the opportunity to “virtually consult” with 54 of the world’s foremost business, marketing, and personal development authorities…

During these intense, ultra-focused panel sessions, these experts will address the biggest problems you’re facing in your quest for success and hand you the breakthrough solutions you’ve been searching for.

The line up is incredible:  Tony Robbins, Jay Conrad Levinson, Stephen Covey, Michael Gerber, Brian Tracy, Robert Cialdini and a host of others will be on hand to lend their assistance and guide you towards the winning mindset and lifestyle of your dreams.

And best of all it’s FREE.

Yes, for 6 whole weeks, you can be a part of these game-changing panel sessions. And it won’t cost you a single penny.

Somehow, Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren (two marketing and business-building geniuses in their own right) called in some favors and got all this massive firepower to waive their typical $250,000 a day consulting fees.

So I can’t stress enough how amazing this opportunity is. You can get the wisdom and expertise you need directly from the same brilliant minds who have helped to shape the success of billion dollar companies like Microsoft, Google, Coca Cola, Proctor and Gamble, and many many others.

I can’t think of a better or easier way to transform your mind–and your life.

We spend our lives learning – so when the opportunity comes along to learn from the very best I really think it’s worth taking.

Going Through Changes

Thursday Walkabout 2...

I’m going through changes again. Are they changes I want or are they enforced by outside influences?

That’s a very difficult question to answer. The world is a strange place right now. In fact I cannot recall so many economic problems at once. But the changes I’m going through are actually through choice and the issues over which I have no control have conspired to help me.

I’m one of the few people I know who is pleased with life right now. The downturn is having as much affect on me as any one else – real world business is down, my clients are suffering and I could be fearful of the future – certainly from an income perspective. But…

…this is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for. I have some breathing space. I have some time to concentrate on new ventures – on things I’ve been looking to do for so long but just haven’t been able to fit in.

I have a saying I use often – you may have read it here before:

Nothing Changes Without A Change

That summarises life for me. Everything changes from the day we are born until the day we die.

But if we don’t make a change the situation remains the same.

And yet, most people fear and resist change.

For me, the changes right now are fantastic. I have no control over the world economy, over banks and their ridiculous attitudes, over stockmarkets or house prices.

SIDENOTE

I saw on the news a couple of days ago that the major UK banks had been scammed out of £ millions. These are “prudent” bankers don’t forget. And then seconds later there was an advert suggesting I might like to get free financial advice from them! I think they’ve done enough damage thank you.

Those changes, however, provide me with opportunity. There is ALWAYS a positive to offset the negative and I ALWAYS focus on that positive.

So it is with a very light heart I move towards 2009 and another change, another chapter perhaps, in my working life.

I prefer to think of these changes as evolution – a flow from one state to another. If you don’t resist and just go with the flow life is so much easier and amazing things happen.

A year a two ago I met a lady named Suzie Cheel from Abundance Highway when we were both starting new businesses. Suzie has just published a new book about this very subject of change. The Emergings Book is her collection of art and words that flow around the sometimes difficult subject of change.

Created originally 21 years ago when Suzie was contemplating a major career change it is as valid today as it was then. The words flow around her paintings – it is more an experience than a book!

Suzie has gone though a number of changes over the past year – the release of this book was in fact as part of a major challenge to complete an unfinished project within a very tight timeframe. 21 years after starting it seems Suzie managed to complete the task in less than 2 months. Clearly she knows something about change!

If you are worried about change or are facing changes that you find uncomfortable then take some time to really focus on the positive side of those changes. Sometimes you need to take inspiration from others – maybe Suzie’s work will be inspiring enough for you to make that change.

Look for the good in every situation – it is there if you look hard enough.

Technorati: change, changes, coping with change, emotional change, life change

Here’s another epic for you to get your teeth into. It’s written again by Nicholas P. Kidd and Henk J.M. Schram and it makes so much sense – to me anyway.

I’d never heard of the Ultradian Rest Response before but I have has similar experiences where I don’t know the answer and find myself slipping into a kind of day dream.

I like explanations!

Few things are as important to ‘attraction’ (or rather your act of ‘creation’) as what some scientists call the ‘ultradian rest response’. You may have never heard of this before, but it’s one of the keys to bringing about in your life what you want to see.

You see, there is a great difference between ‘thinking’ and ‘knowing’. Thinking is a purely intellectual activity. It mainly takes place as electrochemical processes in your body and brain.

‘Knowing’ on the other hand, transcends intellect. It is what is often called ‘intuition’. Intuition is often defined as ‘immediate knowing’, without the conscious use of reasoning. There is no sequence of thoughts following up on each other leading to an outcome. It’s just there, instantly. Bang! You suddenly get it.

“Aha!”

It appears to be stemming from a whole different source of awareness compared to the ‘rational mind’ or intellect that we tend to use so much in our lives.

In our modern societies, we find ourselves under so much pressure to ignore intuition and to rationalize everything that happens. We’d rather go with our ‘heads’ than go with our ‘hearts’. We learn that from an early age in our education system, which puts the main focus on the left part of the brain, the intellectual and analytical part.

As a consequence, if you’re like most people, you tend to ‘over-rationalize’ everything. You regularly get the feeling that you want to do something, and it really makes your heart sing. But then your intellect rears its ugly head, and suppresses the ‘intuitive knowing’ you just experienced by using the limiting thoughts and emotions that have been dominating your being and thinking for long. You start to think and feel things like:

  • “Oh dear, who am I to think I can do that?”
  • “Oh my, what will my mother say?”
  • “Goodness, what will the boys at the bar think if I do that?”
  • “Dear me, my parents will get angry for not doing something with my education…”
  • “That can’t be right. Scientists say that this is not true. Who am I to think otherwise?”

Thoughts like this have ruled most people for all their lives and forced them into submission. The repetition that has been going on for years has created ‘habits’ to go with the ‘head’ all the time instead of the ‘heart’. The moment you have intuitive knowing and your heart starts to sing, you immediately begin to doubt it and you’re pulled back into line.

  • “I can’t do that, it’s not responsible. What about my job?”
  • “I’d love to do this, but…”
  • “If I could ever do this… Nah, I can’t do that. I must have gone mad.”
  • “What will the neighbours think?”

You’re systematically pulled in line, back to the image of artificially imposed norms of what ‘society’ or others think you are supposed to be. It is ignoring the deepest core of yourself, and the intelligence of the magnitude that you are deep inside.

When you look at it this way, it’s not a surprise that your intuition is often at odds with what you think. The intuitive knowing stems from a source that has a much greater overview, the bigger picture. It sees what the ‘knowing’ and associated action will lead to. The rational intellect always has a limited perspective that is quite likely even coloured by societal and religious ‘norms’, or ‘bad memories’ of certain events, which itself are often limited interpretations of what were actually stepping stones into a whole new reality.

Ernest Rossi, Ph.D., is an internationally renowned psychotherapist, teacher, and pioneer in the field of mind/body healing. In his book The Psychobiology of Mind/Body Healing, he describes how during an ultradian rest response your body goes into a mode that makes you more receptive to the unconscious parts of your being:

“This is the time when it is easiest to access our own intuition, your own internal imagery. Thoughts are most likely to be closer to the unconscious. This is a time when the unconscious wants all the energy it can get. If you train yourself to just watch and observe and not intrude, you are going to fall into what is called ‘reverie’ or ‘hypnagogic state’, what I call its more naturally intuitive state.”

So when do you ‘know’ instead of just ‘think’? How can you distinguish? Well, it’s largely a feeling, but Dr. Laurie Nadel gives you some hints in her book Sixth Sense: Unlocking Your Ultimate Mind Power:

“Do you find yourself losing concentration during certain times of the day? Perhaps it comes as a sudden touch of fatigue, or a subtle mental fuzziness. All of a sudden, you feel droopy. Your eyes may tear. You can’t stop yawning, or you sigh. Maybe you find yourself staring out the window, your mind far away from the tasks at hand. If somebody speaks to you, you find yourself startled by the sound of his voice. Or you don’t understand what was said the first time and ask the speaker to repeat himself.”

According to Dr. Nadel, these are signs that your body is entering the ultradian rest response. At times that this occurs, your body is most attuned to your intuition, as the four main regulatory systems of your body (endocrine system, autonomic nervous system, immune system and neuropeptides in your brain) align to the unconscious, greater levels of yourself.

The clearest memory that comes to mind of experiencing an ultradian rest response myself was during a final math exam back in high school. I had trouble with one of the questions and finally drooped away. It was like I temporarily switched to the realms of ‘no-time’, staring out of the window without being conscious of what was happening around me. Then suddenly some kind of realization kicked in, and I suddenly knew how to get on my way of solving the question that I didn’t seem to understand at first.

This is not something uncommon. Everyone experiences this all the time, probably daily. The trick is to recognize it. Even some of the greatest minds in modern history accepted the importance of intuition:

“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” - Albert Einstein

“It is by logic that we prove, but by intuition that we discover.” Henri Poincaré (one of France’s greatest mathematicians and theoretical physicists)

According to Dr. Nagel, ignoring the signals of the ultradian rest response or trying to suppress them can cause you to become irritable, uncomfortable, and even depressed. However, she emphasizes that if you allow them and flow with them, they can be moments of great inspiration. Here’s what she says:

“This is the best time to take a break rather than forcing yourself to push through the fatigue. You can think of it as your intuition break, time to take a deep breath, close your eyes, and allow impressions from your intuitive right hemisphere [right brain] to flow through your mind. You are working on a project and would like help from your intuition, this is the time to ask for it. It is also a good time to meditate.”

Meditation is not a must. All you need to do is trust your intuition and listen to your inspirations. True enough, you are blessed with an intellectual mind too. But it shouldn’t dominate your intuitive knowing and suppress it.

The thing is that ‘attraction’ doesn’t happen like things just falling out of the sky right on your lap. It often works through inspirations to do something or go somewhere. Your inspirations and hunches point you towards things you can do to bring about the changes in your life that you desire.

Ignore them, and you won’t ‘attract’ what you want. But follow along with them, and magic happens.

And finally, always realize this… ‘Intuitive knowing’ can be unique to the knower, which is you. What may feel good for you, doesn’t have to feel good for others. Everyone is unique. You will be inspired to do something that is best for you, and that matches what you want. That can be totally different from anyone else. Besides, not everyone wants the same thing, at least if everyone would follow their true ‘wants’, not the ‘wants’ imposed by the image of what others think you should want.

No one should judge or ridicule what another feels is good for him or her, as long as the person never seeks to impose anything on anyone else. That is the freedom of life we need, that will change everyone’s life radically, and the whole world with it.

Gotta go now. I feel an ultradian rest response coming in…

Nicholas P. Kidd and Henk J.M. Schram are the instigators of the alleged ‘Great Revolution’, which provides the members with truthful instructions regarding the universal principles of life.

The Revolution is receiving increasingly widespread attention for its straightforward explanations and instructions with regard to complex issues, which are made understandable for people from all walks of life. In essence, the true secrets of the ‘Law of Attraction’ and the other ‘Universal Laws’ are explained in much clearer and practical ways than the ‘enigmas wrapped in riddles’ that usually characterize the descriptions of the Law of Attraction and its application.

The Secret Secret – And Why It Isn’t Working

So many people have seen The Secret film and “hope” that it’ll work for them. But, despite their wishes nothing has changed. So why is that?

I came across this article which had me captivated from start to end:-

The past few years, with an absolute peak in 2006 as the movie ‘The Secret’ was exposed to hundreds of thousands, an ever growing number of people is slowly waking up to the knowledge that there may just be more to life than the often robot-like existence of daily routines they lead.

With movies like ‘The Secret’ and ‘What the Bleep Do We Know’, and books like ‘The Attractor Factor’ by Joe Vitale and the resurfacing of ‘The Law of Success’ by Napoleon Hill, people increasingly realize that they can have much more success in life, if only they knew ‘the secret’ that all these sources talk about.

Still, although hundreds of thousands of people have seen the movie ‘The Secret’, why are so few people living their ultimate lifestyle? Why aren’t all those people living the success they long for so bad? The success that all these movies promise them? Is there an additional secret to movies like ‘The Secret’?

The obvious answer is ‘yes’. If there weren’t, every person having seen the movie ‘The Secret’ would be living the lifestyle of their dreams, would be ‘attracting’ everything they long for, and would be ‘manifesting’ everything they desire into their lives ‘without any conscious effort’.

At least, isn’t that what you would think after watching movies like ‘The Secret’?

Let me tell you what the problem is, what is also the cause of so many people still not achieving their desires and dreams, and what is also the additional ’secret’ or ‘edge’ to the movie ‘The Secret’ and others. The problem rests in a psychological phenomenon called ’selective retention’.

In simple terms, ’selective retention’ means that you only remember the things you want to hear. In other words, you filter out the things you’d rather not hear. Let’s relate this to the contents of movies like ‘The Secret’ and other films and books with regard to this subject.

What we can agree upon is that all these movies like ‘The Secret’ and books like ‘The Attractor Factor’ are about a Universal Law called ‘The Law of Attraction’. According to the Law of Attraction, you can supposedly attract and manifest anything you want or desire into your life, based on what you focus your thoughts.

That’s the secret, according to the movie ‘The Secret’.

What I can tell you upfront is that the Law of Attraction is real, but only to an extent. There are very important nuances to its application, which movies like ‘The Secret’ either don’t tell you about, or which you filter out through the psychological process of ’selective retention’.

The actual nuances and details of the application of the Law of Attraction are a subject to be discussed at another time and another place. For now, it’s important to realize and acknowledge the one thing that most people are missing from movies like ‘The Secret’ and the whole range of other products dealing with the Law of Attraction.

You see, movies and books dealing with the Law of Attraction often overemphasize the word ‘effortless’. You are led to believe that you can attract things and manifest things into your life without any conscious effort from your side.

Quite likely, ‘effortless’ is exactly what you want to hear. Who wouldn’t like to do nothing while bringing about the most profound changes? People are hardly ever satisfied with their circumstances, so they desire change.

However, although they desire change, at the same time they resist change. Sounds like a paradox, but it’s true. Because as soon as any effort is required to actually make the change they desire come about, or to overcome the resistance experienced to make that change come about, people ‘cop out’. Do you recognize that?

Maybe you do, or maybe you don’t. But that’s exactly why so many people don’t achieve any success, although they’ve seen the movie ‘The Secret’ and supposedly know about ‘the secret’.

Through their ’selective retention’, the only thing that they remember and engrain is that ‘no effort is required’, and they filter out the part that says they should actually take inspired action. As a consequence, many people think that if they just think positively and try to focus on positive emotions most of the time, everything they desire will magically manifest into their lives while they’re sitting on the couch watching movies like ‘The Secret’ and ‘What the Bleep Do We Know’.

They think suddenly some distanced relative they never heard of before in their lives, will leave them a legacy of millions of dollars while they’re eating potato chips and ice cream, as they keep on watching the movie ‘The Secret’.

Or they visualize themselves as a Scrooge McDuck-equivalent, swimming around in a pool of money. Perhaps they include the Money Bin too. And they expect a big bag of money to fall out the sky.

As a side-effect, they get bigger and unhealthier, and more and more miserable because nothing happens to make their lives better. Apparently, even a movement has come about that believes that you can apply the Law of Attraction to create a body they’ve always dreamed about. They think they’ll look lean and muscular without effort through ‘attracting’ their dream bodies by visualizing how they want to look. I kid you not.

Let’s reintroduce some common sense. Butt sitting never got anyone anywhere. The Law of Attraction that the movie ‘The Secret’ and other sources are about is real, but to reap its benefits and seize its fruits, you need to know how to apply it in your life, and you need to know the nuances to its application.

You can’t just start thinking positive thoughts and feeling positive emotions and wait for all your desires to magically pop up while doing nothing. That’s the missing link to achieving your success from the knowledge of the movie ‘The Secret’ and other films and books. The true secret is ‘inspired action’.

Doing nothing doesn’t help you. You need to act. You can get clear on your intention and then go do something else to get your mind off it. It’s during those moments of ’silence’, the moments that you’re not obsessed with what you want, that you suddenly get ideas, inspirations, hunches and so on. You must act on those inspirations.

The ‘act of acting’ alone will make you turn on the switch of the Law of Attraction, so to speak. Then, through an interplay of other Universal Laws that the movie ‘The Secret’ and a whole range of books on the Law of Attraction forget to mention, the Universe will start rearranging itself according to your thoughts, emotions and actions. You’ll get new ideas, meet new people, stumble upon new knowledge, and so on, all of which you can use in your actions that lead you to your envisioned goal step by step, through a chain of events.

And that’s how the changes you desire come about.

Your job is to recognize what exactly to act upon. For that, you need to know exactly how the Law of Attraction works in reality, in conjunction with other Universal Laws, and how things actually manifest into your life so you actually recognize your opportunities. There’s not a great number of other Universal Laws, only a few main Universal Laws that automatically cover all minor and subsidiary Universal Laws.

By understanding the nuances of the application of the Law of Attraction in conjunction with some few other universal principles (or Laws) as boundary conditions, you can make all your dreams come true. You just need to overcome your ’selective retention’ and acquire the knowledge of just the few additional nuances you must understand to really achieve the things that the movie ‘The Secret’ and others talk about.

True enough, it does require some effort, but by applying these Laws correctly you make the Universe work with you, instead of against you. And as you ‘get the hang’ of this application, the conscious effort required from you will keep on decreasing.

But you’ll always need to act. Nothing is going to happen if you don’t act. That’s the additional secret to the movie ‘The Secret’. You just need to learn how to bring those inspirations about, how to recognize them, and then what to act upon.

And there are simple ways to do that.

Welcome to the Revolution.

Keeping A Positive Attitude With Film

Keeping a positive attitude can be so very hard, particularly if you read newspapers or watch the television!

Every day all you hear is bad news, economy, crime, deprivation, lies and self promoting hype. I hate it!

Ever watch any soap operas? Supposedly based around real life people? I feel sorry for those guys! All they ever do is deal with bad situations and shout at everyone. That’s no way to live.

I won’t corrupt my mind by watching that stuff. In fact, I haven’t read a newspaper for years – I don’t believe most of what’s in them and everything is focused on negativity.

And as for the cinema and kids programs! In the main it’s all violence, horror overlaid with flashes, bleeps and noise. I’m starting to sound old!

But answer me this. How do you expect to keep a positive attitude if you fill your mind with all that junk? It’s absolutely no surprise to me that we’ve bred a new generation of violent and intolerant children.

But, we do all need entertainment. We need to break free from routine and escape once in a while…

Spiritual Cinema provides ONLY films that are uplifting and positive. In keeping with a positive attitude. If you want to watch something then make sure you’re viewing something that is not damaging to your well being!

Who Chose Your Lifestyle?

Let me phrase that slightly differently – “did you create your lifestyle or did it develop the way it is because of someone else’s wishes?”

I was reading a post written by Sasha Xarrian from Outrageous Mastery (she’s been a real positive influence for me) in which she poses the following question:

Are you living your life because that is what you want or because someone else wanted it for you?

I talked about this at a top level in my Mummy State post a few weeks ago. Sasha’s question, however, made me think a little deeper.

Is this about personal development – choosing what you want for yourself – or does it go much, much deeper into our childhood?

Thinking back to my childhood and my early years at work I know that I was living my life according to someone else’s rules. I was doing what was expected of me rather than what I wanted. I wasn’t happy as a result!

People pay lip service to this, with comments like “do what you want – as long as you are happy”. But, as soon as you tell them what you are thinking of doing the objections and negatives start:

  • “There’s no money in that”
  • “That’s a dead end job”
  • “You won’t enjoy that”
  • “You have to think about the future”

Because we have little experience when just leaving school we tend to fall in line with the wishes of “society” and those we know best. Not, necessarily because we trust what they are saying but because we don’t know any different nor do we know for sure what we really want. At least most of us don’t.

Those people offering the advice aren’t trying to talk us out of what we want to do because of malice. No, unfortunately, they don’t know any better – they are just copying the example of those who went before. However, the question is “did / are they living the lifestyle they really wanted or are they themselves living according to someone else’s rules?”

It’s nobody’s fault – we just see life from our own perspectives which are ingrained through teachers and parents and our own experiences. So how are we to know any better?

The answer is to be free thinking. To challenge everything we know and work out for ourselves whether there is any basis to what we are told and the information / advice we are given. Or you could choose to live your life based on old wife’s tales and outdated strategies.

We live in an age when doing what we want has never been easier.

Most of us has access to credit – so money to start a business is not normally an issue

Technology and transport means we can work from where we want.

We are no longer tied to working where the “boss” set up the factory.

Yet, many of us still live by outdated values based around the way life used to be.

It’s time to take a real close look at our belief systems and make the changes we need to life the lifestyle we truly want and not the lifestyle created for us by someone else.

I was doing my daily Stumble and came across a great post at Today Is That Day where Aaron Potts talks about successful people and the way they do things differently. He contends the really successful ignore the rules. Although I don’t totally agree with that,  without doubt  to be outrageously successful you have to  believe differently from the norm. Great post you should read.

Coincidentally, I just looked at today’s Mind Food quote and it is spot on with this theme:-
